At the Reception, we thought it would be nice to have some space and time for anyone who would like to, to say a few words and perhaps share a photo, a memory or a piece of music.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to say something, even if it is literally a few words.
If you have a piece of music or a photo you’d like to share at the Reception please add it to the comments below, or email me.
Alternatively, if you are not attending but would still like us to share your memory, we can do so, just like telegrams at a wedding. Just email me or add a Comment below.

I’d would like to share Wonderful World, by Louis Armstrong, it was my Dad’s favourite and it was number One when I was born.

The words sum up Mum’s outlook to life: to see goodness everywhere and to find joy and wonder in everything.

I have so many lovely treasures from my beloved mum.
My earliest memory I think was when I was a little girl, she would make me lunch and afterwards we would listen to Children’s Story Time on the BBC Radio 4. I think sheβd put me down for a nap after that. It ingrained in me a lifelong love of stories, of radio and of tomatoes on toast ππ»

My nana was a lovely woman, who loved me in a way that I still have a hard time understanding. Lucy lived a full life and has passed down her family values to my mom and uncles, and our families further. Your influence lives on, may your soul rest peacefully. I love you Nana.

Dear Auntie Lucy – such a kind and lovely person. A special memory I treasure is of visiting Brussels for work and spending a wonderful evening having dinner and chatting. I remember her being so devoted to her family and proud of her children and grand children. And she was always so interested in her nephews and nieces too β¦ wisely encouraging us to live life to the full. In loving memory xxxx

Auntie Lucy was a very special lady. Always so positive and kind and of course my style icon!
She had such a passion for life and when she spoke of her children and grand children the love and pride just shone through.
She was my friend, we had a great friendship and particularly throughout the pandemic we would spend hours on the phone, chatting and setting the world to rights whilst I was travelling around for work.
One of my happiest memories is from last year, I had decided last minute to travel North and called in to see her one morning on the off chance she would be around. She answered the door , dressed impeccably and welcomed me with open arms. We sat and chatted for hours and totally forgot to eat lunch, shocked to suddenly realise it was 4 pm..
She was always supportive and encouraging in every situation and I am going to miss my friend , our conversations, times together and the fun and laughter we shared .
Rest now my beautiful Aunt .. Love you xx

As Ken’s daughter, I know jut how very happy Lucy made my Dad over the 25 years they had together, not just in Southport but in Brussels and Spain, where they an apartment together on the Costa Brava.
I have great memories of the times I shared with them both over the years. Not only were you guaranteed a warm welcome, but also a seriously good time! They certainly knew how to entertain and it was always clear just how much love there was between them.
I can think of nobody who could have cared for my Dad more than Lucy – and her care for him, when his time had come in December 2005, could not have been bettered.
Over the later years, I enjoyed regular e-mail contact with Lucy and always looked forward to her messages, full of all she had done and the wonderful trips she had made. I felt in awe at all the travelling she continued to do and the outings she made with friends and family. It seemed she would go on for ever.
So, although Lucy’s loss is keenly felt by so many of us, she has left a huge impression and lasting memories for us all to treasure. I woud like to think of Lucy and Dad being reunited again in the enduring love they clearly had for each other. May they rest in peace together for all time.
